This iconic viewpoint, aptly named Snake River Overlook, is one of the most photographed in all of Grand Teton National Park. This view was made famous by Ansel Adams who first drew attention to this area with his stunning black and white images of the Grand Teton Range. For decades, photographers of all levels and interests jam the overlooks at sunrise and sunset to try to recreate the iconic image shot by Ansel Adams. In this image, I eliminated perhaps 35 photographers by moving to the north end of the viewpoint and climbing up on a stone ledge thus limiting my view of the Snake River. The beautiful pines in this area have now grown to the point that this image is virtually impossible and only small sections of the river are visible. Time marches on.

Splendid imagery on this shot, Sandra! Love the perspective which leads the viewer to the ridge and the mountain range, as it is just superbly presented. Love the river also! Great scenic wonder, Sandra!
